Concept
My primary inspiration for this concept was the documentary Super Size Me, which explores the consequences of a man eating McDonald's every day for a month as a social experiment. This documentary also highlights the impact of corporate giants on American consumers and their contribution to the country's obesity epidemic.
My primary inspiration for this concept was the documentary Super Size Me, which explores the consequences of a man eating McDonald's every day for a month as a social experiment. This documentary also highlights the impact of corporate giants on American consumers and their contribution to the country's obesity epidemic.
For this illustration, I utilized both symbols and colors to evoke a sense of danger associated with obesity. The colors red and yellow are prominently featured, as they are commonly associated with food and appetite; however, red also symbolizes danger or blood, and yellow symbolizes warnings. Additionally, I incorporated the motif of cockroaches to signify neglect or decay, which is strongly associated with obesity. The presence of these insects enhances the sense of unhealthiness and neglect.
The illustration aims to provoke thought and awareness among viewers about the severe health consequences of obesity and the underlying factors contributing to this widespread problem.
